Classic Turkey Chili

This turkey chili is so cozy and perfect for cold and rainy days! With a few ingredients you'll have a hearty, one-pot dish to keep you warm this winter. You'll need:

- 1 lb of ground turkey (or ground beef)

- 1 medium sized white onion, diced

- 1 can of dark red kidney beans

- 1 can of light red kidney beans

- 1 large (or 2 small) cans of petite diced tomatoes

- 2 tbsp of chili powder, divided

- 2 tbsp of cumin, divided

- S&P to taste

** 1/4 cup of diced jalapeños

Heat a large pot over medium heat and add about 1 tsp of olive oil. Add the diced onion and a little bit of salt and pepper. Let simmer about a minute before adding the ground turkey. About halfway through browning the meat, add 1 tbsp of the cumin and chili powder. This will flavor the meat well.

After the meat is finished cooking, add the can of tomatoes and remaining tbsp of cumin and chili powder. Drain and rinse the beans before adding those to the pot as well. Place the lid on the pot and let simmer for 15 minutes stirring occasionally.

**Optional: I love a little spice in my life, so I add about a quarter of a cup of diced jalapeños and stir in with the beans!**

Chili is one of those meals where everyone likes theirs a special way, so I always set out bowls with toppings so that people can make their own! Such an easy and filling meal - Enjoy!
